When you read the Bible, what do you see?
“The Widow of Zarephath” (2018)
In the Bible, 1 Kings 17:1-17, a poor widow and her only son cook their last meal and then give it to the prophet Elijah. As they all wait now to starve to death, a miracle happens and the oil jar and flour pot are refilled by God. Every day for three years it never runs out. God truly loves us and provides all we need day by day as we trust in him and obey.

“Stairway to Heaven” (2019)
My favorite hike in New Mexico is called “Church Rock.” The prairie dog looks at the bear, the bear’s lifeline points to the dove, and the dove shows us the rainbow steps into God’s presence. This is my vision of the glorious day when God turns the desert into the Garden of Eden again.

“Why are you so afraid?” (2020)
In the Bible, Mark 4:40, the twelve disciples are in a boat with Jesus, and despite being tough fishermen, they are crying with fear that they might die. They wake Jesus up and ask if he even cares. Then very calmly he calms the storm and asks them what the problem is. So whenever I worry about my life, I remember Jesus promised to take me to the other side (Mark 4:35).

“The Crowd Laughed at Jesus” 2024
In the Bible, Mark 5:40, Jesus says he will raise a dead girl back to life. Instead of responding with hope and gratitude, this good news is met with mockery and ridicule. Then Jesus prays and the girl gets up and eats lunch. Silence. Sadly, I also have doubted Jesus, that is why it is MY HAND I used to model all the pointing fingers. God forgive me for laughing at you.
